Greetings to our wonderful students and parents,

We hope everyone had a lovely Memorial Day weekend and is feeling refreshed for the learning activities lined up for this shortened week. It’s Wednesday already and we’re excited to share some of the highlights and expectations for this week and a glance into next week.

Delving into Environmental Issues with “The Lorax”

As part of our curriculum on understanding and addressing environmental issues, we are watching “The Lorax,” an animated film based on Dr. Seuss’s classic book. The movie beautifully explores various environmental issues through its engaging narrative. We began this journey today, discussing and analyzing the environmental themes, characters, and the narrative’s overall implications on real-world issues.

Next week, we will take this a step further. We’ll be focusing on how these issues and concepts apply to our local environmental challenges. This not only strengthens the students’ understanding but also encourages them to think about how they can make a difference in their own community. Keep an eye out for a project announcement that will bring these concepts to life in a tangible and impactful way.

Juniors Gearing Up for NYS Regents Exam

We are in the home stretch! Our juniors have been diligently preparing for the NYS Regents Exam in U.S. History, which is taking place tomorrow, June 1st. This is a significant milestone and we’re proud of the effort and dedication our students have shown in the run-up to this examination.

This week, they held intensive review sessions, discussed key historical events, and ran through mock tests to ensure our students are well-prepared and confident. Remember, students, your consistent hard work will shine through in the examination. Stay focused, calm, and believe in your abilities.

Parents, your support during this period is invaluable. Encourage your students to revise thoroughly, maintain a healthy sleep schedule, and eat nutritiously to perform at their best. We are confident that our juniors are ready to excel in this examination.

Wrapping Up

Despite being a shorter week, it’s packed with insightful learning and important milestones. We are delighted to be a part of these exciting times with our students. Remember, whether we’re analyzing “The Lorax” or facing the NYS Regents Exam, we’re in this together, learning and growing each day.

Here’s to a great rest of the week!
